A small gauge attached to this contact lens (small rectangular patch of circuitry at center) can help doctors monitor the pressure inside an eyeball.

This is GREAT!!! I can finally take these hideous glasses off!!!! YAY! I'm just kidding, but this article is awesome. I love the way that it is that small and so easy to carry around like normal contacts, BUT, they can pretty much UNDO vision loss due to disease or other things. I love this article because it relates to me specifically because I wear glasses, and because it's just plain cool. I really hope that there are more articles like this because I think that this is the coolest thing I've seen on the blog in a long time. This was pretty cool. I think that it was a pretty major time commitment and a pretty amazing invention and achievement and if I could I would really want to buy a pair of them fancy contacts!!!!
I agree with grace. THIS IS GREAT!! I think that is really cool. I like that you can take them with you anywhere. Also that they work just like normal contacts. I think this is great that the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne is working on this. It is not good that the macular degeneraiton is making adults blinds, but they could probably fix that. This is a really cool invention, and I hope they make it even better.
I think that this article was fascinating because of all of the technology that it explained. One of these that I found interesting was the zoomable lenses that would magnify an object 2.8 times. However, it is not a topic that interests me because I have relatively good vision, and I don't need to worry about this as much. I can't imagine having macular degeneration because I would lose more eyesight every day, but I wouldn't be too bummed out because of all of the things that scientists have come up with to combat it.
I think that this could be the next big thing. Especially for people who have bad vision like me. I always leave my bulky glasses at home or I lose them and sometimes I cant see notes on the board in music or the writing on the promethean in English. But ere may be a flaw would this correct your vision or just magnify it. Lets say you have blurry vision it would just make the board big not cleared
I think this is really cool! I would be willing to endure contacts longer if they could zoom and improve my vision more. I think it's really awesome how these can help people with vision diseases like macular degeneration see better. Also, it's good that the electronics are clear so they don't mess with your sight and don't look weird.
