I'm amazed at how these parasites function. They must have evolved/adapted so much to get to the point where they can completely take over the plant and still spread to new plants. Also, the fact that they can keep spreading makes me wonder how they can be stopped by the plants themselves. It is such an interesting subject, and I will rate this article 10 out of 10.

Like what Eli said this is really cool how the parasite functions and the other really cool thing about it is the way that Stephen Hawking lived with it for so long and still does.

It is insane, almost, how he has survived 70 years with ALS when normally it kills people! He is a very intelligent man, and it is unfortunate that he is cursed with this disease. Stephen Hawking is a living ALS miracle.

I think that this article was very interesting. It is amazing how Stephen Hawking managed to live until 70, and is still living with ALS. While I read the article, I started to wonder whether or not ALS left your brain in-act or if it harmed your brain. I did a little research and found out that ALS only harms the body, making it not moveable. The brain stays perfectly fine, and eventually there becomes a normal brain in an almost dead body.

It is amazing how long he lived. The doctors expected that he would not live to his 25 birthday but he lived longer. It is also cool how he controls the thing that shows his thoughts. I rate the article 10 out of 10

I thought that this article was very interesting. Stephen Hawking is such a intelligent man! I am happy that his case of ALS was not a bad one. He seems to have made such a large impact on science. When I first heard about ALS I thought all you had to do was dump ice on your head. Now I know how important it is to find a cure for ALS.

I think it is not explained to middle schooler's and high schooler's enough and that we just hear events to help raise money for it. Like Jenna said she thought that it was just dumping ice over your head. It is very interesting that the great minds and people like Albert Einstein had these very untreatable diseases but live through them.

I think that great care and that the teenager symptom helps both ways, this is usually a very dangerous disease. The way Stephen Hawking is treated I would say that would make him have a 15% better chance of survival, also the teenager symptom version is a lot easier and is easier to survive for longer periods of time. So that would increase his living rate by 35%. Though it is rare to get ALS when you are young I think that if you get it when you are young you have a lot bigger chance of surviving for longer periods of time than just 5 years. Overall this has lead to a lot of research and improvements to peoples understanding of ALS. I think in 10 years we should have a cure, depending of this research and this breakthrough.
