This game is interesting. You get to take care of your new baby Thing, and when they grow up, you can let them mate and an heir is born (i.e. if you do it right). I found this fun to play and informative as well.

Thingdom was a game where you bought a baby Thing, took care of it in several different worlds, and mated it. The purpose of the game was to show how certain genes are taken from one parent but not the other. For instance, a Mother Thing could be blue, and a Father Thing could be red, but there is a 50/50 chance the baby could be either. I thought this game was a fun and interactive way to learn more about genes, and about how animals (and us) are attracted to each other!

This game was very funny because i ended up with a fat blob as my Thing. The game showed how babies had a certain chance of acquiring their parents' genes, however I wonder how the percentage is decided, because some of the Things had completely different percentages for their genes.

I think that this game was good but a little weird. I think that what we should learn from this is how babies can get some of their parent's genes and gain some of their traits. I also thought that is was fun to take care of your baby although it was kind of weird how they turned out.

I really liked this game! I thought it was super awesome because it represented real life. I also liked how cute the creatures were. The only thing I would recommend is in the beginning of the game when you pick a monster to make your own.

At first, I was confused about this game, but then I learned it helps understand about genes and matting. One grown up Thing will have to do an activity to "impress" another grownup Thing. If the other Thing gets "impressed", they will have a baby. The baby's genes will have a mixture of both the parent Things' genes, and once that baby Thing is grown up, it will try to "impress" another and make it's own baby. This game is a cool way of showing how this works, and the whole thing makes it fun. Overall, I believe this will teach a lot of kids about genes and matting, and the game will have a lot of success.

This game is very odd. It kind of shows you how you have to constantly meet the needs of a child, or like how you have to constantly multi-task. Though this game was very confusing of what it was trying to teach us or show us. Or if it was just a normal game? My main thought was that this game taught us the chances of spreading ceratain DNA?

I love playing thingdom. I managed to genetically mutate all of the things so that they all had floral dots except for one, the one where we had to do for the wavy stripes challenge. I actually knew about this game before I went on the blog. This game was an amazing way to learn about genetics. I agree with Ayden that this game was very fun to play, while being really informative at the same time. I would definitely recommend this game for anyone who would want to learn the basics of genetics.

I loved this game because each time you got to take care of a new baby thing. One of the cool things about this game was that each time you mated you got to see the string of DNA. This game was fun and informative at the same time. In the end I defeated the game. I hope that we get more blog posts like this .

This game, while being very fun, shows the basic life of animals. Eat, sleep, and reproduce. I think that it is a cool concept for a game how you can be different types of animals and make new animals. It also shows you the genes of every animal, and what chance it has of having different patterns or colors. I.e., 50/50 chance of polka dots, etc. In the end, this is a very fun game that also shows you how animals evolve and essentially gives you an up close look at their daily lives.

I really liked this game. I found that it was much easier after the first time because I knew what the next challenges were. I think that it taught me about genes very well

This game is very fun and shows how different species are made by mating. You can choose a blue baby thing to start out, and then when you mate with a red thing, you could possibly get a purple thing or a red or another blue. This game shows the life of animals and how they mate which fits along our new unit of making the animal kingdom stop motion animation. Overall the game was fun, but I thought it was more fun than informative.

One problem with this game is that you can choose which think you want to reproduce. This makes the game too easy, and should be removed.

This game was a game were you had to take care of a Thing and mated other ones. I thought that maybe the chance of having a baby that had an equal chance of being their, mother of fathers color. This game was catchy but it was not fun at all and is a little strange.

This game was very interesting. You got to raise a thing in many different worlds. In the begging you choose a thing, and then take care of it. When it is ready, you can mate it with another thing. When you mix the genes they give you a percentage of probability of what the baby thing's genes might turn out as. For an example they might say the percentage of what pattern, size, or color. Because in each world they give you a challenge to breed a specific gene. This game can teach you that when two things have different genes, they mate and the baby thing gets a mixture of both of its parents. Overall, this is a very exciting game. This is also informative.

I agree with Mason that although the game is scientific and teaches about DNA and how babies inherit genes, choosing the outcome of your baby is very unrealistic.

I think this game is just so cool for two major reasons. The first reason is that it teaches you so much about the different traits that you get from your parents. The second reason that I think this is great is because it's a video game and who doesn't love playing video games. Let me just say that at first I was confused by the game but I scrolled down and down and down and eventually found that their is a leader board and the way you get there is by having the most blobs in your family of blobs.

I think that this game was very fun/ny. This was so because I liked making new things and having their genes inherited from their parents.

I think that this game is very cool, and a good way to teach about genetics. It gives you a random creature, then you have to find other creatures and try to get certain genetics into your creature. Using probability the game decides what genes come from what parents, depending on similarity and differences.

I thought that while this game was relatively poorly designed, it had an interesting concept and gameplay mechanics. I understand that the developers were trying to convey how genetics work, and how you offspring are altered depending on your partner's genes. However, in actuality, the percentages given for mutation are incredibly inaccurate. If both parents have the same genetic makeup in one area in Thingdom, the baby has a 25 percent chance of having a completely random deviation from the normal DNA pattern. In actuality, this chance is much slimmer, as mutation is extremely unlikely. The game requires you to nurture your Thing, a task which includes feeding, playing, and otherwise interacting with your character. After a while, your Things become less dependent on you, requiring sustenance at fewer regular intervals. Thingdom demonstrates the basic process of animal life: Grow, reproduce, die. After each different Thing is created, the game prompts you to abandon the previous one, which can be perceived as a form of "death". Overall, I think this game provides an insight into the basic cycle of life, and I personally greatly enjoyed it.

Personally, I liked this game. Learning about mating and the "outcome" could not be more fun. When you choose to mate, you pick a mate and it shows you how the process works, which is really cool and I think is helpful to know in life. This teaches about DNA and genes also, which is nice.

At first this game was a bit confusing, but I later realized that it meant to teach you about DNA genes and reproduction. It was actually quite fun to play, and I think it's a good way to teach. I also really enjoyed the different mating challenges.
